The Kuala Lumpur Tower


We continue our wandering heading towards the KL Tower, the iconic telecommunications tower of Kuala Lumpur.

Finally we approach!

Here we are at the foot of the 421 meters of the KL Tower, or Menara Kuala Lumpur. Up there, the Sky Terrace (the observation deck), and glass "Sky Boxes" extending beyond the ledge await us...

Here we are on the sky terrace with all of Kuala Lumpur offering itself to us.

The Skybox. For many ringgits (the Malaysian currency), each tourist passes in front of the photographer to walk on the glass with 300 meters of void under their feet...

The impressive infinity pools on the terraces of gigantic hotels... Well, against all expectations, we will have the opportunity to enjoy them in two weeks! The prices of apartments on Airbnb were practically the same as elsewhere! So we will treat ourselves for the end of the Malaysian stay!

About two million inhabitants live in Kuala Lumpur. More than 7 million if we count the agglomerations.

The old and the modern rub shoulders but for how much longer?

The Istana Budaya, or Palace of Culture, Malaysia's main performing arts center. It is often nicknamed "The Opera of Malaysia". It was inaugurated in 1999.

The Exchange 106 is the second tallest building in Malaysia with its 445 meters height and its 106 floors. Its gray cap lights up with colors when night comes.

And meanwhile, the Merdeka begins to take on the colors of the setting sun.

In two weeks, we will be perched high again, in the top floors of one of the two Petronas towers.

It's time to go back down! Almost two hours that we are up there!

The KL Tower is undoubtedly the best illuminated in the city. It goes through all the colors of the rainbow.

The Petronas Towers

Thirty minutes later, here we are at the foot of the Petronas towers and more precisely in the KLCC park and its water feature reflecting the 452 meters of the twin towers.

With the reflection, that gives us 452 x 2 = 904 meters. That won't be enough to beat the future Jeddah Tower in Saudi Arabia which will exceed a kilometer in 2028...

The towers are connected by the "Skybridge" walkway on the 41st and 42nd floors.

Every evening, the Symphony Lake fountain activates with music and colors.

We are now in the Suria KLCC shopping center located at the foot of the Petronas. And we are in the middle of the Deepavali period, the Hindu festival of Lights.

Come on! That's enough of these dizzying viewpoints! Tomorrow, we start the road trip to head towards the center of the country, in the Taman Negara national park, where two days of trekking await us!
