Iceland 2011

Gullfoss

Waking up in Geysir campsite. We've never seen so many people in an Icelandic campsite! This is undoubtedly due to the proximity of the island's two very touristy sites, Geysir and Gullfoss.

The campsite overlooks the geysers directly, but we'll start the day with Gullfoss waterfalls, located just ten kilometers from here.

Iceland.

The weather is magnificent. In 3 days, it's summer and the sun intends to make it known! All the better, the site will be even more beautiful!

Gullfoss is located on the Hvítá river, its name means "golden falls" in reference to the rainbow that sometimes appears above the cascades.

Not much else to say... Except that I took two, three photos...

Oh yes, I forgot about Gullfoss... Its name "golden falls" is usurped: I haven't seen a single rainbow!!!
