Andalusia 2020

The Nerja Cave

Objective of this last day of October: Reach Malaga 150 kilometers by road from Granada while visiting the large cave of Nerja! But the road starts with a roadblock! Yes, the police controlling the exits of Granada stop our car! And indeed, we understand that it is forbidden to leave the city where one resides, the perimeter confinement being supposed to prevent the circulation of the virus between agglomerations... But our explanations of itinerant tourists annoy the policeman who defeated finally lets us pass... And bam, rebelote upon our arrival in Nerja and same scenario! But this will be the last check of the whole trip! We will pass between the drops of the "policia" until the end of the trip!

Here we are arrived on the site, well open to tourists it seems... And here is a small anthology of photos of the cave discovered in 1959.

The cave is really beautiful and links various more or less large rooms. Limestone concretions are present in all their forms.

In the Cataclysm room, columns have run aground on the ground, evidence of ancient earthquakes.

The ceiling is a real mille-feuille of stalactites.

We leave these sculptures forged by millions of years of patience and hit the road again to join Malaga!
