NEW YORK ![]() |
That's it, the last day has arrived... Our feet are exhausted but we still don't want to leave this magnificent country and we intend to enjoy it to the end...
We therefore start the day with Liberty Island to finish it in the evening at the top of the Empire State Building.
LIBERTY ISLAND
The Statue of Liberty is a gift from France to the United States.
The architect Auguste Bartholdi designed and led the construction of the statue. Gustave Eiffel, for his part, took care of the iron structure that holds it all together.
The statue is located on Liberty Island from where you can see the buildings of Manhattan.
It changes from natural landscapes but one remains just as amazed in front of these buildings !!!
In the base, a museum traces the history of the statue, and allows at the same time to restore the image of France... Phew !!!
The first torch held by the Statue of Liberty... On the right, the original color.
GROUND ZERO
Ground Zero. The work on the tower that will replace the Twin Towers has barely begun.
All around, on the gates, panels resume the course of events.
The gravity of the place does not prevent Americans from expressing themselves, thus a "no love for Bush" manifested discreetly.
THE BROOKLYN BRIDGE
This famous bridge will give you one of the most magnificent views of Manhattan.
On each side cars pass, and we, we pass above
THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING
320 meters to contemplate a pretty panoramic of Manhattan from the top of the 86th floor.
The skyscraper was inaugurated by President Hoover in 1931. It is 448 meters to the top of the spire.
