We take the plane to Da Nang to reach Saigon where we will leave for My Tho.

For lunch, we will be entitled to this magnificent typical dish of the region: the elephant fish of the Mekong Delta.

We reach the other bank by the My Tho river (one of the arms of the Mekong Delta).

This new bridge joins the cities of Cai Be and Ben tre.

Once arrived on the other side of the river, we take a short carriage ride to join a boat that will take us through the palm trees and other vegetation.

Short stop, to get to know this nice python...

We arrived at the inhabitants where we will eat and sleep.
Let's enjoy it because it will be the last time we take a shower with a basin of cold water!!! 

Thierry cook by trade participates in cooking.

After the meal (hmmm, more elephant fish and my little spring roll that I made myself), a small local group plays and sings some traditional songs for us.

This morning, we visit the orchard where we slept.

A jackfruit tree.

Bananas in bloom.

Brrrrrr, a huge spider, maybe a nephila???

Coconuts and grapefruits...

We take the boat again on the My Tho river and pass by several floating fish ponds.

The brand new bridge between the cities of Cai Be and Ben tre.

We take back the mini-bus that we left the day before and leave for Cai Be where we navigate again in a sampan!

The Gothic church of Cai Be dating from 1880.

Small stop in this puffed rice factory with caramel.
The rice is puffed by mixing it with burning sand then mixed with caramel. The whole thing is spread in a large wooden mold and cut before it cools.

Well if that's not classy!!!
