Grenadines 2018

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Petit Byahaut

6th day. 9 AM. Here we are already in the open sea leaving the island of Bequia behind us to join Saint Vincent.

The captain is at the helm and all indicators are green. The skipper can therefore quietly continue reading "The Three Musketeers", always a "bout" in hand, just in case.

Petit Byahaut

90 minutes later, we arrive facing the small beach of "Petit Byahaut", south of the large island of Saint Vincent. With his big toe, Jules can drop the anchor.

Lunch break, toes fanned out, or in fins. Your choice.

Here are two photos of which I am not the author, and for good reason, since I am on them... Yes, I am all the way up there, at the end of the gigantic mast of Magix which is barely visible when you are down below... But how did I get there??? No, the captain didn't punish me. And no, I wasn't playing hide and seek.   No. I was just the guy on the team who wasn't too dizzy, and who didn't say no to changing the usual photographic framing of the last few days. And incidentally, I could even grease the nanometer placed at the very top!

To go up there, it's "easy", you just have to equip yourself with a small harness and sit on a small swing hooked to one of the bouts of the boat used to raise the sails, and the winch motor will do its job by winding the rope while making me climb up there. And once up there, I just have to play with my camera (while holding on tight to the mast, because up there, the swell movements are amplified...).

I hail the whole crew to come on deck for the souvenir photo.

Wow, it's swaying quite a bit up here... I hope down below, they won't forget me...

Oh yes, and I must not forget my mission! Unseize the nanometer with WD-40!

Come on, one last photo of the front of Magix in the turquoise waters and I come down!

And off we go again for the next stage located 8 kilometers away still on the island of Saint Vincent!

Wallilabou Bay

We arrive at Wallilabou Bay, a small celebrity in the area, because several scenes from the film "Pirates of the Caribbean" were filmed here.

And hop, little dive and let's join the beach by swimming, leaving the girls on board Magix.

Christophe and Jules put in the waterproof bag the small things that will thus be able to reach the boat by water safely.

Well-deserved rest in the bay. And phew, no pirate on the horizon.

That makes a lot of feet, six sailors...
