Philae Temple

The temple of Philae

This temple was, before the construction of the second Aswan dam, on the island of Philae. From 1972 to 1980, UNESCO moved it to the island of Agilkia. The temple had been flooded since the installation of the first Aswan dam, in 1902.
Access to the temple is therefore by boat, a very nice 5-minute ride in the middle of the fauna and a sumptuous natural setting.
