The temple of Horus

This recent temple dates from the year 237 BC. It is dedicated to the God Horus, represented by a falcon or a winged sun.

Wadjet on the left, goddess of Lower Egypt, and Nekhbet on the right, goddess of Upper Egypt, protect Pharaoh, sovereign of the two Egypts.

So that the gods Montu (above) and Anubis (below) would not overshadow their only god, around the first centuries AD, the Copts disfigured certain reliefs.
