The Valley of the Kings
We start the day early. Sam, our guide, takes us to discover the famous Valleys of the Kings and Queens... On the road, we cross hot air balloons quite common in Egypt
First explanations from Sam, our guide, in front of Tutankhamun's tomb. He is an Egyptologist and hasn't finished impressing us (not Tutankhamun, the guide!!).
At the very bottom of this valley, after the steep staircase, the tomb of Thutmose III (1500 BC) son of Queen Hatshepsut.
The Valley of the Queens
The Valley of the Queens is 1.5 km from the Valley of the Kings. About 80 tombs of Queens and royal children have been dug into the mountain itself, including that of Nefertari... We visit the tomb of Amun-her-khepeshef, son of Ramses III. A mummified fetus is also visible in this tomb.
