The Itinerary

Namibia 2014

Windhoek

Last Namibian wake-up, the visit to the capital will be quick because we are flying in the afternoon! So we will wander on foot through the streets of the city center while waiting for departure.

Luderitz

Luderitz street with its blue jacarandas (Jacaranda mimosifolia).

Wernhil Park

The Wernhil park galleries.

The main street: Post street mall.

In this same street, samples of the Gibeon meteorite are exhibited.

Gibeon Meteorite

Upon entering the atmosphere, the meteorite exploded and scattered its fragments over an area of 360 km around the town of Gibeon, in the south of the country.

In Zoo Park, a monument dedicated to the Germans killed in 1893-94 during the Nama uprising refers, like the city's architecture, to the country's colonial past.

Fidel Castro Street! Few are those who get their own street during their lifetime!

And here is our final stop! At the car rental company Asco Car, where we return freedom to our Toyota Hilux beast!

And on its odometer, the length of the tracks rolled under its wheels is displayed: 5303.3 km! So many images that will remain etched in my memory. Africa does not disappoint, that's a given! I'm sure I'll return to this continent, for the beauty of its varied landscapes and especially in the hope of crossing paths again with a pelican, a giraffe, an elephant, a lion... I'll stop there, the list would be far too long!

Thanks again and well done to all the animals!
