Waking up at Patreksfjörður campsite where we are all alone!

We take the Bíldudalsvegur road (road 63) to reach the Dynjandifoss waterfalls located about a hundred km away

By the side of a road, we let ourselves be mesmerized by all sorts of birds: terns, eiders, and oystercatchers...

The Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea) has many vocalizations. The two most common are the alarm call used when potential predators (such as humans or other mammals) enter colonies, and the "signaling call". The signaling call is social in nature, used when individuals return to the colony and during aggressive contacts between individuals. © Wikipedia.

The Common Eider (Somateria mollissima) is a species of marine diving duck of the Anatidae family.
Males are black and white, females are brown

A little further on, an expanse of moss (Philonotis fontana?) opens onto the Arnarfjörður fjord

We join road 60 (Vestfjarðavegur) which crosses vast expanses and winter still hasn't taken a vacation...

Once again, we come across another waterfall. But the object of our visit is not for it, because in a few kilometers we will be at the foot of the impressive Dynjandi waterfalls...
